More than just a legal designation by the Internal Revenue Service, being not-for profit means a world of difference at Canton Christian Home. Rather than paying a profit to an owner or stockholder, revenues in excess of expenses stay with the organization to augment the care of residents. But more than just a term, the not-for-profit status of Canton Christian Home reflects the underlying philosophy of Christian ministry in all we are about. Both staff and residents are committed to an atmosphere of unconditional love and caring where the spiritual, social and physical well-being of residents can be met and enhanced. 


Is there a waiting list to move into Canton Christian Home?


There is typically not a waiting list for Independent Living apartments, Residential Living, or Assisted Living accommodations at Canton Christian Home. However, there is a waiting list for entrance directly to Nursing Care. For current information regarding availability call 330-456-0004 ext.45.


What is the process for moving into Canton Christian Home?


We have a simple and streamlined process for prospective residents who wish to move into Canton Christian Home.  Prospective resident typically begin by scheduling a tour of Canton Christian Home.  The prospective residents then submits a completed application and medical form with a $150 application fee.  After review and approval of the application and medical form the applicant selects accommodations and begins preparations to move.  It's just that simple!


What up-front fees are required for new residents moving into Canton Christian Home?


There is a $150 application fee for prospective residents. There are no entry fees or life care fees at Canton Christian Home. Incoming residents manage their own finances and assets either by themselves or through designated individuals.


How do I get to Canton Christian Home?


Canton Christian Home is located at 2550 Cleveland Ave. NW. Major highways leading to Canton include Interstate 77 running north and south through the city and Routes 30 and 62 running east and west through the city.  Find Us


How can I find out about volunteer opportunities at Canton Christian Home?


There are numerous volunteer opportunities available at Canton Christian Home. Some volunteer opportunities include teaching a craft or woodworking class, supervising golfers on the putting green, leading an exercise group, sharing in a literary program, teaching art or drawing, cashiering in the gift shop, assisting with seasonal decorating, driving the handicapped van or 22 passenger bus (CDL required for the 22 passenger bus). How can a person make contributions to Canton Christian Home?


Charitable gifts can be given to the Association for Benevolent Care (a separate funding corporation that provides benevolent funds for Canton Christian Home residents) at 2550 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton OH 44709. Monetary gifts will be used for benevolence or for other designated projects according to the donor's wishes and or the discretion of the trustees.

Must a person be a member of the Christian Church or Church of Christ to be considered for residency?


Even though the sponsorship and support of Canton Christian Home is provided by independent Christian churches and the Churches of Christ, residency is open to persons age 62 and over, regardless of church membership. In keeping with governmental regulations there is no discrimination in terms of race, religion, gender, national origin, color, family status or disability.


Is Canton Christian Home Medicaid and Medicare certified?


Residents needing Nursing Care may make application for Medicaid if they have insufficient funds to pay their monthly care costs. Canton Christian is Medicare Certified.
