I don’t know about you, but it seems like not too long ago, we were gleefully saying to hello to spring. Now its time to say hello to summer. Many people who have been planning a vacation, are now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. They’re in vacation mode!
If this year, you weren’t able to plan a vacation, summer can still be something to look forward to experiencing. There are so many day-to-day joys that can be found in summer.
For some of us, it is simply the freedom of not having to lug a coat around, or kicking off our shoes and going barefoot in freshly cut green grass. There is also, fresh fruit at its peak! There is nothing quite like a juicy watermelon, that dribbles down your chin. How about fresh strawberry shortcake, with whipped cream….yummy! Who can forget about grapes, blueberries, and strawberries, oh my!!
One of the best sounds of summer, are hearing children playing and laughing. Children finally freed from the classroom, are enjoying an abundance of outdoor activities. Bouncing basketballs, cracking baseball bats, water balloon fights, boys and girls screeching in delight as they jump in a pool or run through a sprinkler, just to name a few.
Our noses are tickled by those summer only scents. The coconut smell of sun screen, the smell of chlorine from the neighborhood swimming haunt, the tantalizing smell of hamburgers and hotdogs being grilled, and freshly laid asphalt.
Enjoy the summer, I know I will.
